Angelina Liwanag - Co- President
I’m Angelina, proud parent of a 7th grader (the youngest of my four kids—all of whom have gone through the Castro Valley district). I’m excited to serve as Co-President of the Creekside PTC this year and to continue building a strong bridge between parents and teachers.
I was honored as Chabot Elementary’s 2024 Parent Volunteer of the Year, and a lead parent volunteer for the CVHS choir/Madrigals. I continue to stay active with the Creekside Choir and my church ministry. After 21 years in the corporate world, I made the shift to be full time in our family business and enjoy giving back to our school community.
I love the beach, my grand-dog, and spending time with my big, beautiful family. Looking forward to a great year together!
Carmen Arteaga - Co-President
Hello Creekside Families!
My name is Carmen, and I’m excited to serve as Co-President of the Creekside Middle School PTC this year. I have two amazing kids—a 6th grader and a 7th grader—and I’ve always loved being involved in their schools. I've been library parent all through Elementary. I’m passionate about making a positive difference here at Creekside and creating a great experience for all our students and families.
When I’m not volunteering, I work as an office manager in Hayward. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and running. I’m looking forward to an amazing year and working together to support our school community. Thank you for your support!
Karen Lac -Treasurer
Hi, I'm Karen Lac, the PTC Treasurer for 2025-2026. I have two children, one of whom is a seventh grader at Creekside.
After seeing what a great first year my son had at Creekside, I am excited to be more involved with the school this year so that it continues to be a great place for students, both academically and socially.
I work as the librarian at one of the elementary schools in town so obviously my favorite hobby is to read. I also love to travel.
Josie Ramos - Secretary
Josie has called Castro Valley home for the past 11 years and is the proud parent of twin boys who are rising 8th graders at Creekside Middle School. She’s an active part of the school community, having served as the Creekside PTC Hospitality Chair and now as Secretary. By day, Josie is a founding member of Rise Up (https://riseuptogether.org/), a non profit organization where she collaborates with inspiring gender equity leaders from around the world. She specializes in program and curriculum design and leads the organization's monitoring and evaluation efforts—working to capture the impact of their work and the valuable lessons along the way.
When she’s not working or volunteering, you’ll find Josie soaking up the Castro Valley sunshine with her partner, teaching her boys how to cook, or spending time with the family’s beloved bunny, 3 cats, and her sweet labradoodle who keep life fun and furry!
Jurga Abudeab – Hospitality Co-Chair
Hi, I’m Jurga, a proud parent of three boys, including a 7th grader (my middle child) at Creekside. I’m excited to serve as the Co-Hospitality Chair at Creekside Middle School and give back to our wonderful school community. As an insurance agent, I love connecting with people, building relationships, and supporting the community in meaningful ways. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends, and hosting or attending social gatherings. Between my kids, three cats, and one dog, I’m always happily busy.
Monique Chan – Hospitality Co-Chair
I’ve enjoyed being an active volunteer in our elementary, middle, and high school Parent–Teacher Clubs and Student Site Councils for both of my kids. My daughter is now in college, and my son is in eighth grade. Being involved has allowed me to stay connected to our schools, and I truly care about supporting students and families.
I graduated from UC Davis with degrees in Economics and Communication. I currently work in finance as an application product owner, partnering with teams to build and improve systems that help people do their jobs better.
Outside of work, my family and I love trying new foods, learning about different cultures, and traveling together.
